Introduction of Ministry
The Guiding Ministry is a Christ centered helping ministry that provides counseling through the message of the cross in such a caring manner that individuals, couples, and families work through their life issues, come to an identification with Christ, and learn to walk in victory. It is our belief that God is the ultimate source of all healing and equips the church to care for the needs of his children.

History
The ministry consists of a team of faithful, dedicated servants who are trained volunteers and lay professionals committed to promoting hope and healing to those who are hurting in the church and in neighboring communities. Giving interest to effectiveness, each member's spiritual gifts and area of expertise are strategically matched to minister to those in need.
Services & Activities
The Guiding Ministry meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month to discuss current cases, review case studies as well as present conduct quarterly presentations on relevant topics.

Photography Ministry
This ministry serves God as photographers for our church. Not only is the history of the church recorded through words but also through digital photography. We take pictures of church services, major events, and have even traveled with our Pastor to places like New York and Africa.
Photographs are posted on the Church Web Site and pictures of new members are posted in the "Hall of Fame" as affectionately called by our Pastor.

Introduction of Ministry
The Security Ministry is a church-oriented Ministry that will interact with the Church to mutually identify problems and concerns, and then address them with viable solutions.
Mission Statement
Through partnerships, First Baptist Church’s Security Ministry provides a safe and secure environment that reduces crime, builds trust, and enhances the quality of life on our church grounds and in the community.
History
The Security Ministry is comprised of 10 dedicated, God-fearing men and women who are spiritually sound, qualified to serve, and physically able and willing to respond and assist the church campus in the event of a crisis or critical incident at the First Baptist Church of Highland Park (FBCHP). They have a willingness to care for the safety and security protecting the congregation and fostering a safe environment for worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. Their knowledge and experience come from many different fields, Management, Administration, and Computer Technology.
Services & Activities
FBCHP’s security personnel will provide a safe and secure worship environment that is a top priority to ensure that First Baptist members and guests can fully enjoy the worship experience which may include but are not limited to the following general tasks:
- Roving patrols of interior and exterior building areas;
- Identifying safety or fire hazards; malfunctioning or damaged equipment; and vandalism or property damage;
- Documenting any unusual incident or accident occurring;
- Monitoring surveillance cameras and public access;
- Responding to alarms and analyzing security footage;
- Being a Security receptionist (tracking incoming and outgoing visitors, sign in log)

SHARE (Self Help and Resource Exchange)
The SHARE Program is a food program for any person, family or group that desires to purchase a nutritious food package for about $20.00 a month. The Share Program is NOT a subsidizes program. There are no income restrictions.
Each package contains at least enough for 4 meals for a family of 4. The food is picked up from the warehouse and transported to the church by volunteers and other volunteers package the food for purchasers to pick up at the church.
The monthly menu and order forms are available in the church office. The menu can also be viewed on the Share Website https://www.catholiccharitiesdc.org/share.

Single Mother’s Ministry (SMM)
Everyone knows that being a single mother is not easy. In the Single Mother’s Ministry, we will study the Bible together to encourage single mothers. God has a plan for single mothers, too!
In this focused bible study, women will study God’s word, network, and be strengthen.

Transportation Ministry
To transport students to and from the Sunday Biblical Institute (Sunday School) and Senior Members to and from the 11: 15 a.m. Church Service each Sunday and to manage the church's vehicular fleet, including making vehicles available for use by other ministries, with drivers being provided by the requesting ministries

Ushers Ministry
The Combined Ushers Ministry consists of two units, the Senior Ushers and the Junior Ushers. The ministry encourages good ushering techniques through training and unity of its members through fellowship activities.
The Junior Ushers serve every third Sunday at the 10:45am service. The Senior Ushers serve at every First Baptist Church of Highland Park worship service and at every programmatic service throughout the year. The Senior Ushers accompany Pastor Davis to many of his preaching engagements in the metropolitan area and at every funeral service providing support and comfort to the bereaved families. The Junior Ushers partner with other church youth ministries when called upon.

Wellness Ministry
The Wellness Ministry is a group of RNs, LPNs, and lay nurses who are committed to the care and concern for the congregation. This group provides support during regular Sunday services, wakes, funerals and other special events at the church and in some cases at other locations. All nurses are either licensed to practice nursing or receive on site first aid and CPR training.[Read More]

Widow and Widower Support Ministry
Members of the Widows and Widowers Support Ministry meet monthly with an average of 10 members in attendance. They come together to support and uplift each other, and to share information and experiences with newly widowed persons.
There are more than 150 widowed persons at First Baptist. Although all of them do not attend the monthly meetings, they do enjoy the social functions and programs that are planned. Some of the activities include: sightseeing and shopping outings, and holiday fellowships which often times include widowed persons from other churches.
