NOVEMBER BIRTHDAY MINISTRY

In 1982, Pastor James McCord commissioned our church membership to organize and establish monthly birthday ministries. Pastor McCord outlined the mission and purpose for all Birthday Fellowships. A small group of members assembled at the direction of James Pledger on the third Sunday in November after the 11: 15 morning worship to form the November Birthday Fellowship. Our Fellowship By-Laws were approved and sanctioned in February 1994 by Reverend James J. McCord and Deacon Herman Jones, Sr. Early Spiritual Leaders were Reverend Frisby and Mrs. Gains. Spiritual direction was provided by the fellowships past President's, Bonnie Johnson, Claristne Gray, Earthel Foster, Julia Price, Charles Roberts, Marva Rogers, Charles Blackburn, Joyce Gray Thomas, Greta Garrett, Benny Benson, Bernice Patterson."

We implemented the following services:

• Sponsor monthly SHARE Packages for those in need.
• Visit and pray with Heartland Nursing Home, church and members sick and shut in.
• Participate and fellowship with church and community activities.
• Sponsor youth for annual AWANA Camp.
• Sponsor annual November Birthday Fellowship in service, summer picnic, Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, November Outreach Drive.
• We assembly together on the 3rd Sunday in November during the Sunday Morning Service for our annual birthday fellowship. Our fellowship colors are Black and Gold and our Motto is "We Are Many, But We are One"
