COUPLES FOR CHRIST

The ministry seeks to teach, edify, encourage, rebuke and challenge engaged and married couples through small group bible study. Our primary focus is to offer such classes to engaged couples and married couples.

The Couples for Christ Marriage Enrichment Ministry desires to see thriving marriage relationships that exemplify God's design for marriage. We are committed to providing safe spaces for developing authentic and transparent connections that uphold the sanctity of the marriage covenant.

Since 1996 First Baptist Church of Highland Park has served engaged and married couples through the Couples for Christ/Marriage Enrichment Ministry. Under Rev. James J. McCord's direction Deacon Calvin & Deaconess Marion Rodgers began small group bible studies to serve and touch the lives of hundreds of couples. The first engagement couples small group study class at FBHP was offered on Tuesday and Thursday nights. As a result, this ministry although small in number stands strong today and committed to the spiritual growth and prosperity of each marriage that God gives us the opportunity to reach.

Married couples can participate in the Sunday Biblical Institute Married Couples Class at 9:30 a.m. each and every Sunday online. The class review topics such as "Building Your Marriage", "Communications in Marriage", "Resolving Conflict in Marriage", and "Building Teamwork in Your Marriage".

The Ministry also offers other services for families, such as workshops, seminars, retreats, Valentine's breakfasts, luncheons, and dinners, small group fellowships, movie nights, comedy nights, family picnics, resource materials, and other conferences and events for the benefit of marriage enrichment.
