WOMEN’S MINISTRY

The Women's Ministry is committed to: 1) taking on the spirit of a servant and seeking to meet the unique needs of women while providing encouragement, comfort and hope; and 2) creating a positive atmosphere where women realize God's purpose for their lives in the areas of worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism and interpersonal relationships.

The Women's Ministry, formerly the Women's Club, is headed by Rev. Yvonne Felton. The Women's Ministry strives to: 1) provide time for spiritual growth through reading and reflecting on Scripture; 2) serve as a forum for women to express concerns and seek solutions to challenges unique to women; 3) discover and utilize the gifts and talents of women in the body; 4) encourage, support and embrace each other as sisters in everyday joys and challenges; 5) provide for individual needs of group members and promote unity; and 6) build new relationships through fellowship and mentoring.

The Women's Ministry serves as an umbrella with programs and events under sub-ministries. Sub-ministries are designed to continue the expansion of FBCHP's spirit of sisterhood. Also, sub-ministries equip and serve 21st Century women and girls of all ages for the work of Christ and fellowship among each other. Presently, there are two sub-ministries, Sisters-In-Spirit ("SIS") and Daughters of Righteous, Caring and Service ("DORCAS") which fall under the umbrella of the Women's Ministry. Brief descriptions of each follow:

Sisters-In-Spirit
The acronym is SIS. All FBCHP women and other visiting sisters are Sisters-In-Spirit. This name represents connection, distinction, and endearment among FBCHP women. Events originally under the Women's Ministry are now placed under the SIS Sub-ministry.

Hebrews 10:23-25 (NIV)
23.Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
24.And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
25. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Titus 2:3-5 (NIV)
3.Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good.
4. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
5. to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands so that no one will malign the word of God.
